Why Shouldn't You Drop Doing AMIE?

There are over 16000 students engaged in doing AMIE at present. However, a fraction of this number is idle. We get several calls daily requesting re-registration, they are desperate to do AMIE. Unfortunately, they can't, because their six-year term has expired. You are lucky if your six-year term has not expired. We feel that you should continue AMIE because whatever the outcome of the case being fought in the High Court, the private sector and a few state departments and PSUs still consider AMIE for in-house promotions and other benefits. Moreover, an AMIE pass student will always have an upper edge over a Diploma holder both in Government and private sector, considering all other factors same.

Let us understand this fact by an example. Nowadays for the post of junior engineer, even B. Tech students are applying! With the weakening job markets for IITians, even they are applying for the post of JE! Can you even imagine this scenario a few years earlier? Nope! Now, visualise the pain of a plain Diploma pass student. Even passing the written test, he will face the heat in the interview. Now if you are at least an AMIE pass student, you will have an upper edge over the plain Diploma pass student. Isn't it? The same logic also applies to promotions in Government and private sector.

Now, a million-pound question among AMIE aspirants is — how to prepare well for AMIE exams. Well, to be very honest, preparation from books is the best option provided you have plenty of free time to make your notes. But, being in a job, probably you can't spare more than two hours daily. In this situation, the best option is to prepare from dedicated study material for AMIE exams. Of course, the course must be both effective and compact.
